Optical Motion Capture Software

A next-generation motion capture software that combines precision and efficiency.

A new standard
for motion capture software

HELIX, when used in conjunction with the high-precision motion capture camera HALO, precisely tracks the movement of reflective markers attached to the human body or objects, delivering real-time 3D motion data. With easy setup, excellent scalability, and high accuracy, it is widely used across various fields including research, content creation, game development, and robotics.

Product Features

Devices

Connection to HALO cameras via Ethernet is supported, along with camera status display, FPS, exposure, gain, frame rate, IR LED control, and threshold adjustment.
It also supports saving per-camera configuration profiles and provides live video streaming preview.

Calibration

The HELIX system also requires a calibration process to ensure accurate 3D data measurement.

By correcting the camera’s position, orientation, and lens distortion, calibration plays a crucial role in securing the overall measurement accuracy of the system.

In addition, Zoning Calibration is a function that divides the entire motion capture space into multiple sub-calibration zones, calibrates each zone separately, and then integrates them into a unified space alignment. This is particularly useful for complex or large-scale environments.

Multi-object tracking

It can accurately capture not only human movement but also various types of object motion, including rigid bodies and flexible bodies, making it highly versatile.
The Advanced Rigid Body Solving algorithm enables both object tracking and human body tracking in any situation.

Human Body

By supporting Human Body, Hand Tracking, Helen Hayes Body, and VR Body, the system can be used not only for game and animation production but also for human motion research, including ergonomics, gait analysis, and sports performance analysis.

Editing

It offers data cleanup features such as Manual Interpolation, Marker Swap/Reassign, Delete Noise Frames, and Spline Edit, as well as editing capabilities using the AI Spline Interpolation function.

Data Format

It supports Ly, XRS, TRC, and C3D formats for data research, as well as BVH, HTR, and FBX formats for game and animation production.

For Helen Hayes applications, it supports the Dynamics format, enabling the storage of Center of Mass (CoM) and individual skeletal rotation data. It also supports the ANC file format for force plates, as well as motion capture data packing formats for storing data from multiple subjects.

Analyze Graphs

It provides data graph generation and visualization of parameters such as acceleration and angular velocity.

The graph interface is divided into two panels (top/bottom), allowing the 3D Data View and Analysis Graphs to be displayed simultaneously.
In real-time mode, it shows the current XYZ values and the maximum/minimum values of the selected marker, while in post mode, it displays the overall data’s maximum and minimum values.

The graph supports selecting Position, Velocity, and Acceleration to observe changes in physical quantities over time.
It also enables analysis of distances between two markers and angles between lines formed by four markers.

Reference Camera

It supports reference video recording (AVI and MP5 formats), enabling the capture of reference footage perfectly synchronized with motion capture data.
With simple calibration, motion capture camera data can be overlaid onto the video, allowing skeleton images to be displayed together with the recorded footage.

Data Integration

It stores real-time capture data, including the positional information of sensors and markers, and collects synchronized data from various external devices—such as gloves, EMG, force plates, and high-speed cameras—through timecode, trigger, and sync functions.
This capability is ideal for fields that require complex data analysis, including motion analysis, robotics, and ergonomics research.

High Compatibility

It provides SDKs (Software Development Kits) for various programming languages, including C++, C#, Python, and Java, enabling seamless integration with multiple applications.
Through compatibility with major virtual simulation and analysis software—such as Unity, Unreal Engine, MotionBuilder, and Siemens Jack—it enhances usability in ergonomics and a wide range of research fields.
It also supports key communication protocols such as UDP and TCP/IP.
