Sandbox, a leading content company creating virtual YouTubers, virtual idols, and animation content, has introduced XEROmotion’s optical tracking cameras, HALO v22 and HALO v41, to its virtual content production studio.
Bringing Real Motion to Virtual Characters
Sandbox creates immersive virtual content by applying real human movements directly to digital characters.
As every expression and movement contributes to the quality of virtual characters, Sandbox needed a stable tracking environment that could cover a large studio space and capture performers’ movements accurately.

Optical Motion Capture for Studio-Scale Virtual Production
XEROmotion designed a customized tracking system based on Sandbox’s studio layout, installing HALO v22 and HALO v41 cameras along the truss structure.
The cameras were positioned around the walls and ceiling to provide wide-area coverage, allowing performers to move freely throughout the studio while maintaining stable tracking.
Captured motion data was reflected on the skeleton in real time and seamlessly applied to virtual characters, enabling an efficient virtual production workflow.

Practical Training in the Production Environment
After installation, XEROmotion provided hands-on training for Sandbox’s production staff, including calibration procedures and HELIX software operation.
Through training conducted in the actual production studio, Sandbox’s team can independently check system conditions and prepare future virtual content productions.
Supporting Next-Generation Virtual Content Creation
XEROmotion supports the entire process, from environment analysis and system design to installation, training, and application.
